If fiscal responsibility was actually part of the republican platform as opposed to being simply a soundbite ?

So you think the gov’t would be better off under the control and guidance of individuals who drove their companies into the ground, took the golden parachute and left everyone else behind with their mess?! I think not!

Infinitely so. We might not have recovered from the economic hit 9/11 gave us as quickly, but our economy wouldn’t collapse as quickly either.

Well, we just might get to see the devastation a “Big Government” can bring if Obama is elected.
Universal Health care is such a crock. Brought to you by the same geniuses that are bankrupting this country through “Social Security.”
You want good health care and a comfortable retirement? The answer is simple. Forgo the 42″ plasmas, SUVs, & 1/2 million dollar homes. START SAVING FOR IT and live a comfortable life.
Our economy’s foundation IS solid, but people are irresponsible.

For me it isn’t.
I will take a huge monster loss, maybe everything if this bail out thing doesn’t pass. But my beliefs mean more to me than my money, and one thing I know for sure, personal accountability rules, even if it means I go under, I don’t want to give any of these greedy idiots another free pass.
Let em drown, they earned it.

I don’t disagree, but you need to include the Democrats in that question as well. They were AT LEAST as involved in creating this fiasco.

This whole ****ing mess was avoidable. The controls left over from the FDR era worked fine for 70 years but the Republicans just HAD to take them off–”deregulation”. So the same system that led to the last Depression is about to bring on another one. Wow, who’d have ever seen that coming. People in this country must be idiots for believing the Republican BS spouted not just by the Republican Party but by the radio industry Limbaugh types and crooked preachers. The country is going to pay a huge, horrible price for ever having put up with such lice.

a trillion for the bogus Iraq war…………..
oh, a trillion here and a trillion there………and the next thing ya know……we’re talking REAL MONEY!!!
Good thing China has deep pockets and likes buying up our assets!
