can you imagine what our country would be like if we had a series of Reagan’s running our country? The US would collapse. Good thing democrats like Clinton win office and balance the budget (not to mention bring peace and prosperity to our country. who cares what they do in their personal life).

reagan and bush both believe in socialism for the rich.

  2. Captain Cod Says:

    Reaganomics and Bushonomics:

Privatize profits and socialize losses, that way the rich win and the poor lose either way.

  3. Jimmy D Says:

um I’d rather have a conservative than a democratic liberal commie as president

  4. spudbites Says:

That is of course the central hypocrisy of conservatism. Bush doubled the deficit and did nothing for the middle class, majority. But I guess that doesn’t really matter so much in light of how many stem cells he may have saved from a certain and ignoble death.

  5. WE ARE UNITED Says:

    True..

Anyway, trickle down fails miserably for the vast majority.

Also, why did **** Cheney say…
” Reagan taught us that deficits don’t matter..”

    Don’t matter for who exactly?

I think he means, deficits and inflation don’t matter if you have riches and gold stashed away and insider info.
Repubs will run up the debt and give meaningless tax cuts to the vast majority who have to spend it on increasing gas prices, and in turn these gas-energy companies contribute ever more money to the Repub party.

Dems finally take power back and have to place the tax rate back in order to save the country.

Repubs then come back and say ..”see, they raised your taxes..vote for us…”

  6. gcbtrading Says:

After he collapsed the Soviet Union, the spending would have been unnecessary.
Dot com bubbles would have helped any administration

  7. Rev-'em-up Wright Says:

Not to mention that Clinton signed the CRA which directly caused the downfall of our economy.

Not to mention that he told Janet Reno to threaten banks if they didn’t make loans to people who had no way to pay them back.

    Yeah, Clinton did good, youbetya.

  8. Warren T Says:

HERE IS WHAT I BELIEVE HAPPENED. IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW THE DEMOCRATS CONTROL CONGRESS DURING REAGAN’S ADMINISTRATION.

REAGAN WANTED MONEY FOR HIS MILITARY BUILDUP. DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS WANTED MONEY FOR THEIR WELFARE PROGRAMS. REAGAN AND THE DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS CAME TO AN UNWRITTEN UNDERSTANDING. REAGAN WOULD GET HIS MONEY FOR THE MILITARY IF HE WOULD APPROVE THE MONEY FOR THE DEMOCRAT’S WELFARE PROGRAMS. THE ONLY WAY TO GET ALL THAT MONEY WAS TO RUN A DEFICIT.

  9. Philtration Says:

He was not a fiscal conservative.
His economic policy was a joke and we had 10% unemployment under Reagan.

    Most overrated president ever.

  10. She Says:

If a Reagan series were running the US, my family would not have thought of moving down here from Canada.
Thank God for Clinton and Obama.

  11. CyberCommie Says:

Reaganomics: If there is a shortage of money it is because the poor are hoarding it.

  12. Corruptfile34 Says:

Thank John Kasich and blame Tip Oneil. Too bad under any president you will be broke.

  13. dawg Says:

it was necessary to defeat russia in the cold war.

REagan Won 49 states inhis re-election bid. I don’t thin that has EVER been done before.

He aslo blew out carter as well.

the economy was really good for most of the 80’s also, and there was no war.

    He was a good president.

edit- get a real avatar dipshit. if i looked like that i wouldn’t leave the house.

  14. Boss H Says:

both Reagan and Bush are neocons.
Both believed that a large government is an inevitable result of providing national security and restoring traditional moral values.
Reagan fooled the entire nation into believing in his small efficient government that would bring more prosperity to Americans through free-trade lies. Now it is only right-wingers who are fooling themselves about the empty promises and lies he and his kind preach.
Call it what you will… “Socialism for the rich”, or “privatize profit socialize loss”, but the fact remains, what it really is, is elitism pushing us down a path toward global fascism.

  15. Jeremy W Says:

Reagan promised to do three things, increase military spending, cut taxes and balance the budget. In reality the three cannot be done simultaneously. Much more recently, as another answerer has pointed out, Cheney said that Reagan taught us that deficits don’t matter, one of the many things about which he was wrong.
